The course teaches essential skills of exegeting biblical texts in a practice-oriented way. Both testaments and different genres will be covered. While current theories of interpretation and the broad range of exegetical methods will be briefly outlined, the focus will be on the practical work of reading, analyzing, and
understanding texts both on the literary level as well as in their socio-historic contexts.

Prerequisites: OT 101 and NT 101; or BX 101

Notes: Normally students must be enrolled concurrently in CW 101. Enrollment limited to 15 students per section. This course will use a waitlist to ensure sections of comparable size.
